HomeCo. partners with Eat Up to help young Australians facing food insecurity.

HomeCo Partner

HomeCo's commitment to community welfare takes a stride forward with their recent partnership with Eat Up, as part of their ongoing CommunityCo. initiative program. The collaboration with Eat Up underscores HomeCo's dedication to making a positive impact in the communities it serves, particularly in the lives of young Australians.

Eat Up, a force in addressing childhood hunger, operates with a clear mission — feeding hungry kids to empower them to learn, grow, and succeed. The alarming statistic that 1 in 5 Aussie kids’ faces hunger is the driving force behind Eat Up's grassroots beginnings and its evolution into Australia's sole organisation providing free lunches for students on a national scale.

Through the ongoing efforts of partners and dedicated volunteers, Eat Up prepares and delivers thousands of sandwiches and donated healthy snacks directly to schools every week. This initiative not only tackles immediate hunger but also fosters an environment where students can focus on their education and personal development.

HomeCo's partnership with Eat Up is significant, given its expansive network of over 50 everyday needs and lifestyle shopping centres across Australia. The collaboration is particularly relevant, as many HomeCo customers are young families with school-age children.

Sid Sharma, HomeCo Daily Needs REIT CEO, acknowledges the importance of Eat Up Australia initiatives, highlighting the positive impact they can have on families. “We recognise that this collaboration extends beyond addressing food insecurity amongst school aged children, it's about investing in the future of our communities which we and our centres serve. We have embraced this responsibility through our partnership with Eat Up and the shared ambition to nourish children, empowering them to unlock their full potential to learn and grow. HomeCo is proud to be a national major sponsor of Eat Up Australia.”

Across the national HomeCo. portfolio, an array of activities will occur in various shopping centres. These events will feature informational displays detailing how community members and customers of HomeCo can contribute or donate to Eat Up, aiding in their continuous mission of providing lunches to children in need.

HomeCo. customers can also choose to participate in the upcoming volunteer sandwich making events being held at Southlands Boulevarde on Monday April 15, HomeCo. Menai Marketplace on Sunday May 19 and HomeCo. Logan on Sunday May 26.
