We’re thrilled to announce that Decathlon is now open at HomeCo Box Hill and HomeCo Knoxfield.
The two new stores at HomeCo are the first in Victoria, and an important part of the company’s strategic expansion in Australia, which it regards as one of the most sports-loving nations in the world.
Decathlon was founded in France in 1976, and the family-owned business has since grown to operate more than 1,200 stores in over 30 countries. It’s unique model of complementing popular brands with a large range of high-quality home-brand products at the lowest possible prices has seen its existing stores in NSW enjoy huge success since opening.
Size is a key differentiator, with the typical Decathlon store having a footprint almost twice as large as its main competitors, with both Knoxfield and Box Hill Decathlon stores being over 3,800 sqm. This allows for a significant range of products in a hugely diverse range of categories to be available on the floor for customers to review and try.
The brand also offers a highly unique in-store experience for customers, in the form of ‘active zones’ where people can try a variety of products, including bicycles, before purchasing. Customers can also take products home for up to a week with the option to return them within that time. In addition, every one of the products sold is reviewed online by members, with a star rating displayed in-store next to each product.
“Decathlon is a wonderful addition to the HomeCo family of brands,” says David Di Pilla, CEO of Home Consortium. “Their customer-centric approach, and commitment to providing quality, choice and the best possible value and convenience is very much in harmony with the HomeCo mission.”
